Running a magazine is pretty tough sometimes and assessing the submissions is easily the hardest part. For a writer, finding out how to submit to a magazine is equally hard. So, to make it easy for you (and easier for us!) we have compiled 6 Simple Steps to Submitting – this way you know what we expect from you and in return what you can expect from us.Please consider our Simple Steps carefully before submitting your work. If you haven’t followed them, we will not accept your submission.
The 6 Simple Steps to Submitting
Step 1: UK writers only. Transmission only accepts submissions from UK writers.
Step 2: Prose not Poetry. We only accept prose submissions. We do not publish poetry.
Step 3: 3000 word limit. Make sure your submissions are no more than 3000 words for fiction or 500 words for our micro-fiction section.
Step 4 and 5: Email your story and tell us who you are. Send your submission by email as a Word document or an RTF file to submissions@transmissionhq.org. Make sure you include your name and title of your story on your attachment as well as your email.
Step 6: Multiple Submissions. Although we do accept multiple submissions, they are limited to 2 per person. Once you have followed these steps and sent us your story you will receive a confirmation email, telling you that we have received your submission. Then you just have to sit tight while we read through all the stories! Unlike other publications, we try to contact everybody who has submitted to Transmission to let them know the status of their work.
