It’s high time we updated all you good people on what will be appearing in the next issue of Transmission!
Due out on the 28th September 2007, we have an issue chock-full of Pulpy goodness, including exclusive interviews with Pulitzer-Prize winning author Michael Chabon, and Scottish crime writer Christopher Brookmyre. We’re particularly excited about these two interviews, as the authors both approach genre fiction in original ways. Chabon’s new novel The Yiddish Policemen’s Union is a noir murder mystery set in an alternate 2007, where the Jews have been exiled to Alaska. Brookmyre’s Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks satirises spiritualism and religious extremism as his detective, Paralabane, goes on his final assignment - from beyond the grave…
We also have writing guidance from Paul Barnhill, the co-creator of BBC Radio 4’s Edge Falls, a comedy series set in a Retail Village. Paul gives us his views on writing for radio, collaborating, being funny and the essential nature of progressive folk rock in the writing process.
We also have all manner of Pulp stories, from gumshoe yarns to westerns, from sci-fi stories to good old adventure romps.
Stay tuned for more updates!
