Cover: Sawn-Off Tales by David GaffneyAnother plug for regular Transmission contributor David Gaffney. This Saturday 21st April, the author will be signing copies of his excellent collection of short stories, Sawn-off Tales, from 1.00pm at Waterstones in Bury, North Manchester.

Only a short stretch from Manchester city centre on the Metrolink (about 25 mins) at £3.50 off-peak return, so if you are planning to go, why not make a day of it? And if you are, the World Famous Bury Market comes very highly recommended - pies, pasties, black peas and black puddings (you never know, you might even see a flat-cap and a whippet!)
